Success Story - Anushka
Dear WMASS,
I am writing to provide you with an update on the cat "Jezebel", who we adopted on Christmas Eve. You may remember that I was looking for a friend for our other cat Tanner, who missed his longtime companion who passed away recently. Well, when we brought our new kitty home, she was understandably tentative, but Tanner was eager to meet her. After about a day and a hiss or two from her, she realized that Tanner is nice and made friends. Yesterday I saw her rub her head under his chin, and she passed him a toy which he batted back to her.
We changed her name to "Anushka", a nod to her Russian Blue breed characteristics. She knows her name already and runs to be petted or play every time we call her. She is doing wonderfully well, galloping around the house and playing with her Christmas toys. She is eating heartily and also learned where the cat box was right away. Anushka is not only beautiful and intelligent, but affectionate and very playful. She seems truly comfortable and rolls over for a belly rub or jumps on our laps. She also has the unexpected bonus of not shedding at all! She is very well-mannered in that she does not jump on the counters, and she tried the table once but a call of "nope!" brought her right down and she has not done it again. What a smart little girl!
I cannot thank you enough for bringing this sweet, wonderful little cat into our lives. She has made our grief over Punky a little easier, and brought a lot of laughter into the house. My husband and I wish you all the very best for a happy 2010. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
